One of my favorite activities, whether its along the beach or down the
street. Walking in Ireland, is great, alot to see and plenty of fresh air.
It
is hard to resist the magical charm of this Emerald Isle where so many Americans
have ancestral roots. Equestrian traditions are very much alive here and the
Irish greet their American guests with friendly warmth. We have a broad choice
of rides and it is an ideal place to begin your overseas riding adventures.
For example, Donegal from the Saddle is based at Dunfanaghy, a picturesque coastal village in the remote northwest of Ireland, which has some fabulous unpopulated beaches for glorious gallops on willing Irish hunters. Hospitable Arnold’s Hotel with its Irish pub and excellent cuisine provides an ideal base for rides in the wild surrounding area. There are many chances for contacts with local people and riders follow some of the roads built during the time of the Great Famine, which is still much alive in memories here.
For centuries, Ireland has offered the mightiest of sport to the visiting angler. A browse through the catch record books of the houses in this brochure is enough to quicken the heartbeat of any angler in search of a memorable holiday experience.
Without
the scourge of industrial pollution, fishing in Ireland means clean, fresh air
and gleaming, crystal water, as your concentration is disturbed only by a
passing kingfisher, fox or another of nature’s own observers. Unlike in
Scotland, you also have the freedom to enjoy Sunday fishing.
Located on the unspoilt western edge of Europe, Ireland receives prolific runs of the much prized Atlantic salmon, and our marvellous variety of lakes, rivers and streams also offer every test to the skill and ingenuity of the trout angler.
You will be pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable cost of fishing holidays in Ireland, compared with other locations in Europe. This guide offers wonderful variety – so you can choose the Great Fishing House which best suits your fishing interests, your holiday style and your budget.
Inshore fishing both fly, river and from small boats, especially during the months from May to September, is a growing trend. There is no better means of appreciating the intimate connection between the life of Irish coastal communities and the sea, than to fish from a small boat equivalent in size to the craft that almost all Irish fishermen used until recent times. Many visiting anglers bring their own purpose-built 14 - 18 foot boats to a growing number of centres where guidance on where to go, and on safety issues is available.
Irish shore angling is among the best in Europe. Almost every type of shore fishing may be done, for a very wide range of species, throughout the year.

This green and pleasant land is home to just 4.5 million people but has some 374 golf courses. The quality and beauty of the landscape, clean beaches, unpolluted rivers and clean air make Ireland a premier destination for leisure and activity holidays. In recognition of these qualities Ireland was named 'Golf Destination of the Year' at the 1999 Hertz International Golf Travel Awards .This award is a reflection of the huge and growing popularity of Ireland as a golfing destination.
My favourite
Golf Clubs are Portmarnock, Dublin; Druids Glen, Wicklow; Ballybunion, C.Kerry,
Lahinch, Co.Clare, Rosslare, Rosslare, Co Wexford. Try them, I think you'll
agree.
